Mother's Day Rose Card

I created this card for a challenge last month at A Charming Place. The rose is based on Tim Holtz's paper roses, sprayed with Vanilla Smooch Spritz (which I am in love with!). The leaves are sprayed with the Log Cabin Smooch Spritz. I like to think that Tim Holtz saw my Ornament Punch Rose and was inspired to create his own. I know it's not true, but a girl can dream, right? At the very least, I can say that great minds think alike!

Stampin' UP! Color Renovation

I was away this week enjoying the mineral spa in Moose Jaw. While I was gone there was a major announcement from Stampin' UP! - Five New Colors!!! In fact there will be a complete color renovation which will affect all color families. Beginning with the new catalogue, there will be four color families with ten colors in each family - Brights, Neutrals, Regals, and Subtles. There will also be five new In-Color colors introduced, but these will stay current for two years with another five new colors joining them in the In-Color line after one year. Unfortunately, this does mean saying farewell to many colors that I have grown to love, but the new brown alone makes the change all worthwhile! Easter Chick and Basket

I adapted my Sweet Treat Cups Bunny Card to make a Chick and filled the cups with Jelly Beans. Here's the inside.

I based the card on this basket that I made using the scallop envelop die.

Forest Friends Baby Card

One of the challenges last month at A Charming Place was to create a baby card using three charms. Here's what I came up with.

Stamps: Tiny Tags, Forest Friends, Whimsical Words

Ink & Cardstock: So Saffron, Chocolate Chip, Old Olive

Accessories: Scallop Border, Oval, Scallop Oval, Flower, and Square punches, Chocolate Chip Satin Ribbon

Sweet Treats Easter Card

I got this fabulous idea from Sandi MacIver. It seems that every little girl in my daughter's class was born in the spring and she's going to a birthday party every weekend. Since I'm forever making last minute cards for her to bring, I finally sat down and mass produced enough of these cards to last her until Easter. I made myself a free hand template of the bunny's body and the rest are punches.

Feet: Large oval, 1" circle, 1/4" circle

Ears: Oval and Small Oval

Eyes & Nose: smallest heart from the Heart to Heart punch, 1/4" circle, white pen

Flower: Eggcellent Eggs Kit

Paper: Sahara Sand, Naturals White, Sweet Pea

There are several ways to make the treats accessible without ruining the card. This is my favourite method. Create a pocket with a 1 3/8" circle punched into it in the same spot as the sweet treat cup. Instert a tag into the pocket with a tab attached to the top and stamp a hidden message on it. When the recipient pulls the tab, the candies can be easily removed.

Heart Punch Flowers

I combined a couple of challenges for this card. I started with a Mojo Monday sketch. Last week's challenge at A Charming Place was to create a project using no less than 38 hearts. After making all those Valentines I was ready to put my heart punch to a different use. All I used to create these flowers was the Heart to Heart Punch and a couple of punched circles for the base. Each petal consists of a inked and curled punched heart - 16 for the large pink flower, 8 for the vanilla base of the smaller flower, and 12 for the pink centre of the smaller flower. Wait, but doesn't that only equal 36 flowers? Yes, but I also used 4 hearts for the leaves for a grand total of 40 hearts on this card.
