Happy Moments Card

Here's yet another "Mojo Monday on Sunday" project! My Happy Moments set had not yet seen ink and I needed a birthday card. Love Bandit Valentine Card Box

This week's challenge over at A Charming Place was to create any Valentine's Day themed project - quite easy since I've been playing lately with my new Love Bandit stamp set and the Sale-a-bration Good Neighbor paper pack. This box is made out of two Box #2 dies glued back to back. I also added a rhinestone pulled out of a rhinestone brad to the centre of the heart charm - found here.

In total I made12 unique cards and 12 matching scallop envelopes. The original plan was to make enough cards for my daughter's classmates and then send a little treat for the teacher in the box. However, I soon realized that I lacked the patience needed to make the additional 16 cards that would be required!

Heart Treat Cup Frog

I got this clever idea for the new heart treat cups from Jackie Topa. I even picked the green M&Ms from my leftover Christmas M&M's. Isn't he cute? Here are the punches needed to create the frog:

1 - 1 3/8" Circle - Body

1 - Large Oval - Head

2 - Small Oval - Legs

1 - Boho Blossoms Flower - feet

2 - 1/2" Circle - eyes

2 - 1/4" Circle - pupils

The lily pad is made from one large oval and two layered boho blossoms.

Design Team News!

I'm super excited to announce that I am back designing for A Charming Place! I almost didn't submit an entry, but after finding out that charms are not considered "competitive product" under Stampin' UP's new IDA, I decided to go for it. I was on the design team there several years ago and I realized that I had never created so many projects for myself than I did when I was working on Design Team Challenges every month. As you may have already noticed, I already incorporate charms into many of my projects, so I intend to blend my Stampin' UP business with my new position. Even though life has become even busier for me, I am looking forward to spending time in my studio creating for my own enjoyment again!

This card is my design for the first challenge. We were to use hot glue on a project. I dropped dots onto a scrap of window sheet and sprinkled them with Pink Fine Supernova Glitter. When they dried, I cut them out and attached them to my project. Check out the great new accessories on this project too - I love the new embosslit!

Vintage Vogue Card

Today was another one of those Mojo Monday on Sunday kind of days. What would I do without the sketch of the week to inspire me later on the weekends? This one uses the new Vintage Vogue stamp set from the Occasions Mini. Oh how I love this set (although the card looked better in my head!)!

New Stampin' UP! Mini Milk Carton Die

I'm supposed to be marking - it's end of the semester time already - but I found my way into my Stampin' Studio instead. I think I have the best job in the world (teaching Senior English) - except for all the marking, ugh! I have a big Stampin' UP! box full of goodies that haven't been played with yet, so I pulled out my new Milk Carton Die and With All My Heart stamp set (both in the new Occasions Mini) and came up with this project. I stamped the smaller flower with Versamark on Pretty in Pink paper and embossed with clear powder, then cut the petals almost to the center of the flower and sponged Chocolate Chip ink over top before folding each petal in half. I then stamped the same flower on Old Olive and embossed it to create the petals:

Faux Suede Ornament Punch Rose

I'm not ready to put away my ornament punch yet! This rose was assembled in the same way I explained in this post. However, I created this one using the faux suede method. To do this:

1. Punch 6 ornaments using the ornament punch.

2. Run the ornaments over a bone folder (in the same way you would to curl ribbon) several times - both front and back.

3. Once the fibers in the paper have been broken, the two layers of paper will peel apart. I used my fingernail to pry the ornament into two layers, creating two ornaments with a suede like finish.

4. Assemble the rose using the method I described in the earlier post.

I also split the two layers of the scalloped edged piece to make it easier to wrap around the circle (thanks to Jan Tink in Stampin' Success for this inspiration).

Because the rose is so bulky, I cut the back of my finished rose as close to the base as possible (after covering it with sticky strip first. I added another layer of sticky strip to hold everything together and then cut an X in the center of my layered cardstock. I pushed the flower through this X and added a double layer of dimmensionals to hold everything in place while keeping the bulk to a minimum.

I also need to put in a plug for the new Sending Love Specialty Designer Series Paper. It is absolutely gorgeous in person. My camera couldn't capture the glittery designs on the paper - stunning!
