Finding My Mojo Again - Lady Bug Birthday Set

I needed a card and a gift this weekend for a little girl and had very little time to prepare. I've also neglected my stamping lately (as you can tell from the sporadic blog posts) and wasn't feeling very inspired. Thanks to a Mojo Monday Sketch and some online inspiration, I came up with this quick set and added an envelope with some money to the top note box. I cased a variety of sources for this project. The Treat Cup Card idea came from something I had seen from one of my upline's projects using a gummy worm and I had these Laura Secord Chocolates that I knew would be perfect for this card. The top note box came from a combination of several I had seen posted online. Unfortunately, we were running late so I barely had time to snap a couple of pictures, but they turned out okay and the birthday girl LOVED them!

Mojo Mothers Day

It's been a long time since I've sat down to make a card for an occasion and I needed a little inspiration. This week's Mojo Monday sketch was just what I needed to get the juices flowing for my Mother's Day cards. I'm ashamed to say that I hadn't cut a single piece of my Beau Chateau paper yet and it's retiring at the end of this month! Check out the other retiring stamps and accessories.

Altered Caddy for my New Scrap Room

It has been a long time since I've had a space to scrap in. We started basement renovations in Fall, but these things move very slowly when you both work full time and only pick away at it on weekends (when you're usually too tired to do much!). I am so excited to finally be moving my stuff into its new space. My biggest challenge right now is remembering where I put things. I'm almost done, but I still want to finish up a couple more things before I post pictures of the completed space. In the meantime, I'd like to share some of my alterations to make items I already owned fit my new space.

This tote was perfect to house my often used tools and supplies. I picked it up almost a year ago on sale for a couple of dollars. I thought of painting it black first, but I liked the distressed edges and decided it would stand out on my black shelf better if I left it white. Here's what it looked like before:

...and here's what it looks like on my shelf ready to go when I'm ready to stamp.

The basket below it was found for $2.50 in a Christmas Clearance bin. I just pulled out the ugly Christmas Fabric. I plan to replace the ugly cover with Stampin UP! Designer Fabric eventually, but that will have to wait until I remove the stuff still piled around my sewing machine.

I'm planning a tutorial to show how I created the paper roses. My club ladies had fun making these this this month. I'll post what we made along with the tutorial in the coming weeks.

Take it to Heart: Sympathy Card

The New Occasions Mini is Live!
Okay, it's been live for over a week now, but it's end of semester time and that means I'm digging my way out from under the piles of marking that I didn't do over my Christmas break! I did find some time this week to make a quick sympathy card for a co-worker using some of my new goodies. I also have some projects that I made as Christmas gifts to post later this week.
Stamps: Heart to Heart, En Fracais, Loving Thoughts

Ink & Cardstock: Baja Breeze, Crumb Cake, Whisper White, Early Espresso, Blushing Bride,

Accessories: New Hearts Framelits Dies (these are so much fun to play with - you can see exactly where you're cutting), Framed Tulips Embossing Folder
